"Petrobras Marlim 1&2 & Parque das Baleias FPSO"s " FPSO Hull Naval Architect

Client : Bluewater Energy Services, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands
Period : March 2018 to December 2018

Bluewater is part of a Joint Venture which offers lease based FPSO's to Petrobras for the exploitation of the Marlim and Parque das Baleias Oilfields of the coast from Brazil. It concerns field developments of +30 years with spread moored FPSO's.

Partipication on the project as Senior Consultant & Naval Architect. The work comprises the design development of the hull.

"Storstrom Bridge Denmark" Maritime Installation Consultant

Client : Grandi Lavori Fincosit (GLF), Genua , Italy
Period : February 2018 to May 2018

GLF is part of a Joint Venture which will build a new bridge in Denmark between the Falster and Masnedo Islands. The new Storstrom Bridge connection is approximately 6.5 km long and 24 m wide and it will accommodate a two-lane road, a double-track railway for high-speed trains and a shared use route for pedestrians and cyclists. Once complete, the new Storstrom Bridge will be the third longest bridge in Denmark.

"ENI Zabazaba Field Nigeria" FPSO Hull Naval Architect

Bluewater is part of a Joint Venture which offers a lease based FPSO to ENI for the exploitation of the Zabazaba Oilfield of the coast from Nigeria. It concerns a field development of 20 years with a spread moored FPSO.

"Hurricane Lancaster Field "West of Shetland" Naval Architectural Consultancy w.r.t. FPSO Aoka Mizu

Client : Bluewater Energy Services, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands
Period : November 2016 to December 2017 (Part time)

Pending the final investment decision by the client, engineering work is underway to prepare the FPSO Aoka Mizu as an "Early Production System" on the Lancaster oilfield west of the Shetland Islands. The FPSO Aoka Mizu is an existing FPSO in the Bluewater fleet, which is equipped with a specially reinforced hull. Therefore this FPSO is suitable for service in area's with extreme weather conditions.

"ENI Zabazaba Field Nigeria" Conceptual Hull design FPSO

Client : Bluewater Energy Services, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands
Period : August 2016 to October 2016

"QGEP Atlanta Field Brazil" Modification, Repair and Lifetime Extension of the FPSO Petrojarl-1

Client : Nevesbu, Alblasserdam
Period : January 2015 to December 2016 (parttime)

Teekay Offshore is adapting the FPSO Petrojarl-1 for oilproduction on the Atlanta Field located in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil. It concerns an Early Production FPSO, equipped with a turret mooring system in combination with a thruster system for active heading control. De work is performed at Damen Shiprepair in Schiedam, the Netherlands. Nevesbu was contracted by Damen for the design and engineering activities.

Partipication on the project as Senior Consultant & Naval Architect. De work comprises the design of a new offloading configuration, modifications in de turret area for the riser hang-off and swivel system and a new module for housing of additional electrical equipment.

"Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC)" New Semisubmersible Vrane Vessel

Client : Nevesbu, Alblasserdam
Period : November 2014 to December 2014

HMC intents to build a New Semisubmersible Crane Vessel. It will be the largest semisubmersible crane vessel ever build equipped with dynamic positioning capability (DP3) and two heavy lift cranes of 10.000 ton capacity each.

Partipication as Senior Consultant & Naval Architect. The work comprises the overall design review of the basic design package prior to contract award to a building yard.

"CONSORZIO VENEZIA NUOVA" New Storm Surge Barrier for Venice

Client : Grandi Lavori Fincosit spa, Rome, Italy
Period : September 2011 to October 2014

The work comprises the final phase of the technical and operational preparations, and the "on site" guidance of the transport- and installation activities for the caissons that are required for the storm surge barrier.

 

Haewene Brim FPSO, Repair and Lifetime Extension

Client : Bluewater Energy Systems BV, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands
Period : January 2013 to September 2013

Supervision of the fatigue calculations for the hull as performed by DNV and required for the extended field operations of the FPSO.

Gorgon Marine Offloading Facility

Client : Kahn Offshore B.V. (Jumbo), Rotterdam
Period : March 2011 to August 2012

The work comprises engineering and consultancy for the transport and installation of concrete caissons. These caissons are for a marine offloading facility belonging to the Gorgon LNG project development at the west coast of Australia.

 

Berth Pilot Station Vessels

Client : Nederlands Loodswezen BV (Dutch Pilot Association), Hook of Holland
Period : Januari 2011 to September 2012

Conceptual design of the berth located in the river (Nieuwe Waterweg) close to the Berghaven in Hook of Holland. Technical supervision of the tendering process for the selection of the contractor.

Technical supervision of the work performed by the contractor.

Newbuilding Pilot Station Vessels

Client : Nederlands Loodswezen BV (Dutch Pilot Association), Hook of Holland
Period : September 2010 to August 2012

Supervision of the detailed engineering for the Pilot Station Vessel which is performed by the building yard.

"Nederlands Loodswezen (Dutch Pilot Association) " Newbuilding Pilot Station Vessels

Client : Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam B.V, Capelle aan den IJssel
Period : September 2009 to August 2010

The work comprises the project management for the realisation of the basic design for the new Pilot Station Vessels. The basic design will be part of the building contract with a yard and be the basis for further detailed engineering.

 

"CONSORZIO VENEZIA NUOVA" New Storm Surge Barrier for Venice

Client : Smit Marine Projects, Rotterdam
Period : April 2009 to oktober 2010

The work comprises the second phase of the technical preparation and guidance of the transport- and installation activities for the miscellaneous caissons that are required for the storm surge barrier and are a follow-up and further elaboration of the engineering study which was executed in 2006/2007.

 

DAPRAS-Ceyhan Refinery Project Marine Terminal
Client : Fluor, Haarlem
Period : February 2009 to June 2009

The work included the logistics, conceptual design and cost estimate for a Marine Terminal located near shore in sea and belonging to a new refinery which is to be build in the East part of Turkeye. The Marine Terminal provides berths and facilities for product tankers with a maximum size of 80.000 Ton deadweight and LPG carriers with a maximum size of approximately 5000 Ton deadweight. Crude oil import is either by means of onshore pipelines or by means of an offloading buoy capable of handling a SUEZmax size crude oil tanker.

"Undisclosed Client " New Installation Vessel

Client : GustoMSC, Schiedam, the Netherlands
Period : December 2007 to April 2009

The Client has the intention to build a new installation vessel. The design of the hull is extremely innovative compared to similar installation vessel and has to comply with stringent speed and strength requirements.

Participation to the project as lead engineer structural with the responsibility for the concept and basic design of the hull with associated steel structures on deck. The work includes the basic design of the hull, the supporting structure of the installation cranes and pipelaying tower, the accommodation superstructure with helicopter deck and various supporting steel structures required for the installation and pipelaying process.

"Transocean" New Drill ship

Client : GustoMSC, Schiedam, the Netherlands

Period : September 2007 to April 2008

The drilling contractor GlobalSantaFe (later Transocean) ordered a new drill ship at the yard of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Korea with the option for a second drill ship to be build later. The design is based on the Gusto 10,000 class drill ship for very deep waters.

Participation to the project as Lead Engineer Structural with the responsibility for the basic design of the ship with the associated steel structures on deck. The work includes the basic design of the hull, the support structure for the drilling derrick including the drillfloor, the accommodation with helicopterdeck, multiple crane foundations and various supporting steel structures required for the drilling proces.

 

"CONSORZIO VENEZIA NUOVA" New Storm Surge Barrier for Venice

Client : SMIT Engineering, Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Period : May 2006 to July 2007

The work comprised the technical preparation and guidance of the transport- and installation activities for the miscellaneous caissons that are required for the storm surge barrier. The lagoon in which Venice is situated is connected to the open sea at three different geographical locations. In the North there is "Lido" with the two inlets Treporti and San Nicolo, in the middle there is the inlet "Malamocco" and in the South there is the inlet "Chioggia". Each of these four inlets will be provided with a sil structure that is recessed into the seabed. In these sil structures there are refloatable pontoons. Normally the pontoons are resting inside the sil structure and the openings are accessible for marine traffic. When high water is expected, the pontoons can be refloated which will create a barriër between the lagoon and the open sea.

 

DOW OL2K project Marine Terminal
Client : Fluor, Haarlem, the Netherlands
Period : July 2005 to June 2006

The work included project management, consultancy and technical evaluation of the modifications to a Marine Terminal located near shore in sea. The existing Marine terminal provides berths and facilities for 4 product tankers with a maximum size of 100.000 Ton deadweight. One of the berths will be sacrificed. Two new loading platforms, each capable of handling chemical tankers of 50.000 Ton deadweight, will be installed.


FPSO Capixaba, Golfinho Field offshore Brazil
Client : SBM Offshore, Schiedam, the Netherlands
Period : October 2004 to June 2005

Participation to the project as Lead Engineer Structural vessel with the responsibility for the conversion of the steel hull of an existing VLCC. The work included the conceptual design and basic design of the turret integration, helicopter deck, Structural life time extension of the hull, new bulkheads in the existing hull structure, modifications to the accommodation, integration of the tandem offloading equipment, modifications to the engine room and various modifications like enlarged bilge keels, seawater inlet chests, etcetera.


Corrib Wave Barrier
Client : Smit Engineering, Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Period : 2003

The work encompassed the conceptual study for grounding two barges on the coast of Ireland in order to create a sheltered area for a backhoe dredger. This was required to increase the workability for trench digging for a landfall pipe.


Modification Service Vessel Saitha Lass
Client : Smit, Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Period : 2002

The work encompassed the conceptual study, the concept design and the cost estimate for the conversion of a service vessel.


Study Submerged Control Buoy
Client : Shell Global Solutions, Rijswijk, the Netherlands
Period : 2001

The work encompassed consultancy related to the nautical and underwater aspects of a "submerged control buoy" belonging to an exploitation concept of the Kudu gas field offshore Namibia, Africa.


Design Inline chainstopper
Client : Vryhof Anchors bv, Krimpen a/d Ijssel, the Netherlands
Period : 2001

The work encompassed the (conceptual) design of an inline chainstopper made of welded plate material for the mooring system of the IKDAM FPSO on the ISIS field offshore Tunisia.


De New Waterway
Client : Rijkswaterstaat, Zoetermeer, the Netherlands
Period : 2000-2001

The work encompassed consultancy and technical evaluation of various conceptual proposals for floating roads developed by the industry as a result of a design contest organised by the Dutch Ministry of transportation.
